The Frenchie is the flashy cousin of the Pheasant Tail.  Just like the Pheasant Tail, The Frenchie does a great job mimicking most nymphs particularly mayflies. What makes this fly special is the UV hotspot. It will get a trout's attention from a mile away. The Frenchie is tied on a jig hook designed to ride point side up. I love using this pattern as an anchor/attractor and it can be very effective when paired with it's more natural looking cousin, the Pheasant Tail.
