Almost every fly angler has heard of this one before. The Wooly Bugger. This is a very popular fly, and most of those anglers have caught a fish (or several) using one. This pattern has been around for quite a while and the reason is simple- it works. Try a dead drift, twitch, swing, strip retreival. They all work.
*Some of the streamer hooks I own originally had barbs on them (Sizes 2 & 6). I am working to replace these hooks with barbless options as soon as possible. In order to inflict less damage on the fish, I crush/remove the barbs before I tie each fly. If you order a streamer in a size 2 or a size 6 please be advised that you may notice that the hook barb is crushed or in a perfect scenario removed entirely. This will not effect the fly's performance. I appreciate your patience as I work to remove barbed hooks from my inventory all together
*Beginner fly tyers. - The Wooly Bugger is a great pattern to start with because it incorporates a little bit of everything.
